France
Official starting point
Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques (Insee) is the starting point for this country's official statistical sources.
Finding and recording a series
Start with the statistical theme or search for the series. Keep the publication date and geographic coverage, especially when comparing metropolitan France with wider national totals.
When a download is offered, retain the file alongside the table metadata. Check the publisher's current export options and licence; this page does not promise a particular format or API.
